Promotion of Voluntary Sustainability Standards in sustainable value chains
For producers in production chains to improve incomes and access fairer trade and markets, we work with producers, traders, manufacturers and governments to adopt international sustainable standards such as UTZ, Fair Trade, Rainforest Alliance and ISO to ensure that their products are produced in a socially responsible, economically viable and environmentally sustainable manner.
We do this by training producers, buyers and manufacturers in the production and chain of custody requirements of the standards. We also help to set up quality management systems and audits based on the various sustainability standards.
Economic Development
Partnering governments, manufacturers, traders, market and community stakeholders to improve socioeconomic well-being of households to access healthcare, education, food, nutrition, water and sanitation.
Environmental Protection and Climate Change
Working with players in production value chains to develop mitigation and adaptation mechanisms including climate smart agricultural practices to protect and sustain the environment and reduce the effects of climate change for present and future generations.
Women Empowerment and Youth development
Engages with community actors, business executives and policy makers to ensure that decisions at all levels take into consideration gender equality and equity and youth development principles such that women and youth are not relegated but accorded with fair opportunities to participate in governance, leadership and economic pursuit.
Child and Social Protection
With the belief that the future belongs to children of today, we work with national and international institutions to ensure that children have access to education, nutrition, healthcare and social protection to become responsible future leaders
Governance and Democratic Development
Supporting democratic governance and civic responsibility training young people in leadership skills. We also train public institutions to enhance their capacity in policy development and accountable governance. We educate the general public on their democratic rights and the significance of ensuring free, fair and peaceful elections.
Research and Advocacy
We believe that development hinges on evidence base research. We conduct studies on social and economic issues to advise public and private sector organizations to take good decisions for development. Based on research findings we advocate for positive change.
Producer Organizations Development
The weakest link in agricultural value chains is usually the producer. We are interested in training, building capacity and advocating for measures to be put in place to organize them into professional organizations with effective governance systems that allow them to access relevant services for improved livelihoods and incomes.
